We will be holding our Fukuoka Study Group Meeting on July 21st (Sun).

The Fukuoka Study Group is for everyone interested in teaching children. It is a meeting for teachers to experience how to teach and how students learn as well. New members are welcomed, and since we review the Model, Action, Talk (MAT) METHOD techniques, we hope you will learn how with the others. Whether you teach only a few students or a large group in school, you will be able to teach words and sentences easily. You will be amazed at how your students will speak out. We hope you will make great discoveries as many teachers do at this meeting.

Did you have a good time at your Halloween event? We hope you had a good time with your students.

This year is almost over, isn't it!You may be thinking about things to do for Christmas after Halloween is over.

The IIEEC Fukuoka Study Group Meeting is going to hold the last workshop for this year in November.

The topics for our next Fukuoka Study Group Meeting are: how to teach Personal Pronouns and the 3rd Person with "This is my bag. Is this your bag? / She likes cats. Does she like cats?"
Introducing pronouns can be a little difficult. Teachers say their students can't remember them easily.

At the workshop, you will learn how to introduce these topics using the MAT METHOD.
We will also show how fun teaching and learning these grammar points can be with learning activities. We will also do a brief review with Role Play.
In addition you will get lots of fun ideas for your Christmas party!

Hi, Teachers.

How was your summer vacation? Was it fun? We hope you had a great summer!
School has started again. You will probably have a lot of events (Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas etc.) and will be quite busy from now.

For the Fukuoka Study Group meeting, our topics are "How to use the daily expression cards & do a role play (a skit)". We will also show "Fun Halloween Activities".

After we introduce the daily expressions, we will show how role play can be done. There are 5 basic reactions for Role Play in the MAT METHOD. What are the 5 Reactions? Come and find out! We're going to introduce how to make an effective short (long) skit using the MAT METHOD.

Also we're going to show you some Fun Halloween Activities. They are not only fun but they are effective learning activities.

MAT 2-Day Seminar in June!
The long awaited 2-day MAT Seminar by Ritsuko Nakata will be held in Fukuoka!


At this seminar, you will learn how to improve your teaching and get your students to speak 80% of class time and also learn how to read and write at the same time. With the needs of English education for children becoming more prominent and with the coming of the Olympics in 2020, our goals as teachers are more important than ever.
